JOBMALS Animals at work.

She hasn't sat down since 7 AM.

Meet Nurse Rabbit — first-year, med-surg, still charting. She's the first of the Jobmals: animals with jobs, drawn in Japan, working everywhere.

Nurse Rabbit mid-jump, arms wide, ears straight up

None of it is a joke.

No punchlines about patients. Just the part every nurse recognizes: the time, the room number, the thing that happens every single shift.

Call light. Room 4. Sixth time this hour. It's the TV remote. It is always the TV remote.

Call light, again

Shift ended at 7:00. It's 7:42. I'm still charting.

Still charting

Lunch break: scheduled for 12:00. Actual lunch: 3:47 PM. Standing up. Half of it. In the med room.

Haven't had a break

How's the shift going?

Nurse Rabbit, neutralFine.
Nurse Rabbit, happyGreat.
Nurse Rabbit, cryingNope.
Nurse Rabbit, surprisedHuh?
Nurse Rabbit, angryUgh.

16 stickers. One whole shift.

Clock-in to clock-out, in order. They were drawn in Japan, so the words on them are Japanese — the English is right underneath.

LINE (Japan) — submitted, awaiting review

Want these in English?

Two of her lines stay Japanese on purpose. Otsukaresama desu is what you say to someone who worked hard — roughly, thank you for your tiredness. Ittekimasu is what you say on the way out: I'm going, and I'm coming back. Everything else can be English. Whether that happens depends on who asks.

Nurse Rabbit sitting down, waiting

Jobs × animals.

One animal, one job

A rabbit is the nurse. She stays the nurse. You shouldn't have to remember which rabbit you're looking at.

The animal picks the personality

Rabbits are bright, busy, and feel everything. A bear in the same scrubs would be a completely different nurse.

Drawn in Japan, written for the floor

The art comes from a Japanese sticker tradition. The jokes come from work, which is the same everywhere.
